About USAT Liberty Wreck, Tulamben
The USAT Liberty was torpedoed in 1942 and later pushed into the sea by the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung. The wreck now lies parallel to the shore at Tulamben in roughly 5 to 30 m of water, close enough to the beach to be reached by snorkellers as well as divers, and is one of Indonesia's most visited dive sites.
